"Feeling the Blues"

Image result for depression definition
Depression:
de·pres·sion
dəˈpreSH(ə)n/
noun

  1. 1.
feelings of severe despondency and dejection.
"self-doubt creeps in and that swiftly turns to depression"

  2. 2.
a long and severe recession in an economy or market.
"the depression in the housing market"
  3. Although we do not use the later of the definition for this post, it is still relevant to daily living.

I am having a conversation with someone and she stated she suffers from "chronic depression" on a daily basis. I too have dealt with depression but not at this level.
As we talked about depression, she shared with me thoughts of suicide and thoughts of "Feeling Blue". She told me that her and her husband of 17 years are experiencing many challenges that are eating away at the love they once shared and that the distance has added even more depression. She had gained a lot of weight over the years and now is losing more weight than even before. She also stated that her hair has thinned out so bad that she only wears wigs to "camouflage" her look.

As we talked about the changes she is going through, she advised me that she never really sought out counseling. I was not shocked! Simply because "we" as a race sometimes think that this a "white" thing and that black folks don't need counseling. I beg the differ. I say we do and more so than ever before. With the pressures of society and social media, it is very easy to "compare" yourself to others without a single thought.
At any rate she shared with me things that have transpired in her life that led her to this depression. One thing I know for sure is that I can relate. Is there really a cure for this what I now call a disease? Or is it something that is plague in our lives due to the changes in society.
The conversation continues and now I know that my healing for my own life must begin. We vowed to remain in each others life as accountability partners. This basically means I will continue to push her to make the changes that she needs to progress in living depression free. Will this push me easy? Maybe. Can it be done? Maybe. One thing I know for sure is anything is possible.

Often times we do not want to share our inner feelings because we do not want to be judged. But my thoughts are we are judged regardless! I find it being done more often than even before.  Once we are judged, we (sometimes) set up in our minds that this is who we really are in life. What other people say really does affect us in our daily lives.

Let's take a look at depression and what it can do to us:

Feelings of helplessness and hopelessness. ...
Loss of interest in daily activities. ...
Appetite or weight changes. ...
Sleep changes. ...
Anger or irritability. ...
Loss of energy. ...
Self-loathing. ...
Reckless behavior.

Now let's look at a few things we can do to beat depression:
Meditate- This has been my all time relief! Research has shown that formal practices of meditation can halve the risk of future clinical depression in people who have already been depressed several times, its effects comparable to antidepressant medications.
Pray- Lots of folks lump meditation and prayer together. I think they are very different. Meditation, for me, is a mental-health exercise of being aware of my breath and staying in the present moment as much as possible. Prayer would be a solemn request for help or expression of thanks addressed to God or an object of worship. It would be to show gratitude or humiliation of repentance and etc.

I have begun to use meditation along with my crystals. These three are "known" to assist you during your depressed moments: Smoky Quarts, Lepidolite, Tigers Eye.
Take some time to research these and connect with them. I am not saying this will replace any meds or doctors order. However I know people who have used them and they have assisted me as well.

Let's beat depression!

"Crystals & Gemstones"

Crystals & Gemstones- Do they Truly work?
I would say ABSOLUTELY!!

I was having a conversation with some Dear friends of mine a few months ago.
They were all talking about how "crystals" help them with balance and keeping calm. One said "My son has ADHD and I clearly remember you telling me the best crystal for him". At first, I said she doesn't understand the struggles that I have and he needs these meds. Well clearly the meds did him NOOOOO justice but the "LEPIDOLITE "saved my family and his teachers. Seven years later you would have never thought her son had any issues! Life has really improved for us all.

I stated that crystals were a thing that I was heavily into "back in the day". However as my life started to consume me, I let all the good things go! To me they helped me as well. One morning, I woke up happy and excited to go tutor a group of children. I arrived at the site, introduced myself with glee and what do you know. A miserable heffa came at me like I said something really bad. I smiled and ask the basic questions. She went on with the attitude and I said to myself "Dammit I should have bought me a crystal. After this day, I went shopping. I headed to Phoenix and Dragon off Roswell Road and bought up all that was needed.

Anywhooo after purchasing a few crystals for love, balance, repelling negativity and positivity. I do not leave the house without at lease one of them. Sometimes I leave a few in my bag "just in case".

Here are a few that I NEVER leave home without or utilize often: selenite, rose quarts, amethyst, pyrite.

Rose Quartz:

Rose quartz is often called the "Love Stone." It's energetic hallmark is that of unconditional love that opens the heart chakra. This makes rose quartz a stone for every type of love: self-love, family, platonic, romantic, and unconditional. As a variety of quartz, rose quartz has high energy, and this strong energy can enhance love in  virtually any situation.
Moldavite:

These natural green crystals are powerful stones for transformation, as it is thought to be the stone known as "The Holy Grail Stone."
Moldavite is here to assist us in our spiritual healing journey. It helps you connect on your spiritual journey and it helps to release old intense, painful thoughts, and each individual will be affected in different ways. And very helpful to relieve stress. However be careful this stone is very powerful! (research it) You cannot go wrong with this stone. It will truly transform your LIFE!
Disclaimer:
I am NOT saying this will replace any medical needs or physicians however it works for me!
Do your research and depending on what journey or path you are on, you will see the transformation that takes place when you accept the power of crystals!

Peace

"Work from Home" jobs.

So I am back. Well not really but it's worth a try.

What has everyone been doing? It has been one blazing summer! But a good one.

We are all living in some different times. You know there was a time where we could leave our doors unlocked and run to the local supermarket without anyone boldly entering our homes.

Don't try that shit now. Because if you do, there is NOOOO telling who would be there waiting when you got back home!

It was a time where jobs were plentiful and you could just about apply anywhere and get hired. Well not so fast because everyone is seeking employment.

With that said, I want to share some "legit" work from home jobs that can assist you with having extra income or just income in general. Please note that "I have worked for several of these companies". I also have buddies who work with them as well.
Now before you "throw this under the bus" please look into this and check reviews and others opinions on these jobs.

First job is West At Home http://www.apply.westathome.com/applynow.html

West At Home offers great place to work at home with great incentives plus you get paid every week! The training is efficient and you get paid for the training. If you are seeking full time, this may not be the job for you. They are currently offering part-time (up to 30 hours) work but with all of the changes, full time may soon be available. The schedule is so flex, you can do it in your spare time.

Be sure to check back with me on the blog because I plan on posting more often.

Blessings,
-wvs

"Vision Board Soiree"

Well as you can see, I have not posted anything on this blog. Can you so no way to upload pictures!

We had a blast!!!

Guess what I used the Vision Board from last year. One main reason is because it had all that I needed to use for this year. I added a few things to it. I know that my vision will continues to manifest. I have so many great things to look forward to this year that I am uber excited!

Did you create your vision board? Do you believe that it will manifest to its fullest? Has it worked for you in the past?

I need a new remedy. What  I have decided to do is invest in the "Apple" world. Yep MacBook Pro. This Dell computers is NOT doing what I need it to do! It is about dinosaur years old.

At any rate here are the pictures from the "Got Vision" Soiree and I really had a great time. What I have learned as I get wiser is: "Less is more". We didn't have the 34 people that RSVP and most of the guest were glad.

The food was on point per usual and we set goals and vowed to make it happen!

Picture overload but I do not have a computer to get this right. Soon so bare with me.

Note to Self: Next time do NOT delete your blogs or youtube channel!

A "Vacay" Always Work!

                                                                  It's Vacay Time.....

We all need a break! Yes a break.

You know a place where you can hide and be free. I took sometime out to do just that a while back.
My "vacay" was a trip to "St. Simon Island".

Talk about a very relaxing moment. I enjoyed every bit of it and have decided to do more "Quick Get-A-Ways" to relax my Mind, Body & Soul. I will also do more of these to get away for the norm. With a kid in college, most of my funds are spent keeping the nest EMPTY!

I stayed in the St. Simon Island Inn by the Lighthouse. A nice and cozy penthouse set aside from everyone else and the top floor may I add.

I spent a lot of time at the Pier. Many people where there to fish (which I learned was their way of feeding themselves). The fish were plentiful (you will see the pictures below).

I want to say that often times we forget about ourselves and put others in front of us. One thing I will never do again (hopefully) is put everyone else before me. I will live "Selfish" when all possible!
I want to live more Limitlessly.
Next photo overload:
                                                                        The Pier

                                                                This was the best spot!

Spent most of my time here. So serene!
                                                              The Lighthouse View
                                                                    They love it too!
Imagine riding in this for the day
                                                                      No Worries

"Got Vision"

           "GOT VISION"

The New Year has rolled around. Many of us have already created the "Vision" for the New Year. Some started early December and others will start soon. Whatever your desires are, just get started!

A vision board is a simple yet powerful visualization tool that activates the universal "Law of Attraction" to begin manifesting your dreams into reality. It is a collage of pictures, quotes and other items added to a poster or board of your choice. It should represent the things that you want to have or do in your life.

Our meetup group will be having a "Got Vision" Soiree (pictures will follow soon). The focus will be on the things that we need (want) for our lives. When it comes to the vision board, setting realistic visions is the key. I often see boards with lots of material items. This is fine however you "might" need a financial boost (granted you do not have one) to purchase all those Bentley's, Maybach's and Rolls Royce's you have featured. Now we all want or would like nice things. However one must be mindful of why we really want some things.

Have you created a vision board in the past? Did it come to fruition? If not, will you create a vision board now? If so, what will your vision board say about you?

Share you visions with us and as we look forward to an exciting New Year!

SET GOALS!

"Living In The Moment"

"LIVING IN THE MOMENT"

Take the time and think about the last time you really lived in the moment. Most of us cannot.
The idea is to be present and conscious of what is happening in the now.
But instead, our minds are racing on with the daily things and things to come. For example a few weeks ago I was asked to work on a pilot project. I was excited and had all these ideas and thoughts and could not wait to put them down on paper. Unfortunately when the time came for me to "jot" all this down, I was exhausted. Mentally! I had so many plans in my head for the future that I didn't stay focused on the now! The problem with the "now" is we do not live in it.

I often find myself rushing and trying to plan my week ahead. The only issue is I never complete all my task and find myself exhausted and disappointed. In so many ways I tell myself you need to learn to live in the moment. This time around, I do plan on living in the moment. I have decided to limit my activities and commitments to what works for my and my current schedule and lifestyle. If it doesn't fit the "NOW" plan, I will not do it.
Today I promise to "Live In The Moment".

Here are a few tips on how to "Live In The Moment"

1. Focus on the now
By focusing on the now, we live in the moment. Get in a quiet space, rest, relax and enjoy the moment.

2. De-Clutter
Getting rid of things that no longer serve you can truly help you live in the moment. Removing old items of your past can free you from holding onto to things that no longer serve you.

3. Appreciate the moments of today
Start each day with an affirmations and appreciation. Enjoy the moments of that day.

4. Smile
This is something that we rarely do. SMILE! Each day is full of endless possibilities! Start it with a smile. After all it is contagious!

The list does go on. Be sure to share ways in which you live in the moment. What has worked for you? And what changes have you noticed since you began living in the moment.

Happy #2015

HAPPY NEW YEAR'S

We are excited about NEW things that are taking place.
Although I am no longer selling accessories full-time, I still design handmade leather/fabric earrings and maxi skirts for those who like to be "U"nique!
"Dare2B'Different"

The plan is to launch our decor business this year along with our Social Media Networking business.
(Which by the way "both" have been "secrectly flourishing for three years)
And then there's the Socialite's book club, which has been going strong. Talk about fun!
With so many avid readers and places to dine, each book club meeting holds a very memorable moment for us all.
All of the book club dates have been set for 2015 and we are going to have a "Get Booked" Soiree this year. The venue for the Soiree is being observed as we speak!

We are looking forward to many collaborations this year. One of my "I can't wait to Collab" with is http://www.werkchicmag.com/
Be sure to head on over there and check out this Chic online magazine.
When I tell you there is so much to offer, it has soooo much to offer!

"2015"
What will (If anything) you do differently for 2015? Are you journaling your journey?
Will you use a daily planner? Have you set goals?
What "IF" things don't go as planned for the first month, would you still hold on to your FAITH and keep pushing? Or will you say "This year is starting out just like that year before"
(yeah you know that year)!

"Create the Vision"
